The Sanskrit word Lila when translated means something like play/improvisation; play of creation, delight, enjoyment of the moment between parent and child, it also translates to the experience of love.
Parenting is a loving burden.
‘You are a burden, and I choose to be burdened by you’ Being in a PlaySpace with your child can be some of the most delightful moments of your day, if you can do it, however; no one can trigger us like our families.
The ‘natural acts’ of a child are often untouched by trauma and other less than desirable childhood experiences. DvT has significant contributions to child development and the treatment of traumatic stress in children and parents.
Participants will be provided the most relevant research and some experiential exercises regarding the cognitive, emotional, and social pathways of child development and parenting practice to help participants engage in the practice of DvT with a child.
